Later that evening, I got together with my friend of 20 years, Jackie. I had been bouncing the idea around with her prior to pitching it to the gals. Jackie and I began playing with names. The name had to reflect the premise of the channel. Spontaneous, unscripted, fun, uplifting, informative. After about 300 words and 150 combinations, finally “ImpromptuEnlightenment” revealed itself - a title capturing the spontaneous musings of insight and the unexpected paths toward understanding that the project aspired to share.

After about 4 months and 10 posted shows, the channel project was redirected by the Universe. The store we worked at closed. Serafina, Susan, and I had other paths to pursue.

 

Clock forward eight years…

Linda and I met and have gotten to know each other over the course of the last year. We were both volunteering our time and skills at the same organization. As, our time at the organization came to an end. Linda suggested we use our skills, talents, and knowledge to create a website.

​

It began as a humble idea, born from a shared longing to create a sanctuary where curiosity, wisdom, and authenticity could converge without boundaries. Repeatedly shaped and reshaped by countless conversations between myself and Linda—two seekers with a vision that “spiritual knowledge,” in all its wild and wondrous forms, should be accessible, inclusive, and free.

Of course, a vision as expansive as this needed a name to match its spirit. And we had it.

   ImpromptuEnlightenment!

​

ImpromptuEnlightenment has been transformed into a many-layered, multi-perspective website—a vibrant tapestry of knowledge, tools, and perspectives. The site is a living archive, ever-growing through regular contributions from Linda and I, as well as guest contributors and collaborators from across the globe. Now, every visitor can find resources spanning spiritual philosophies, cosmic curiosities, religious traditions, creative life tools, and more—all presented with the same warmth and candor that have defined ImpromptuEnlightenment from the beginning.

The first manifestation of this vision was the YouTube channel, brought to life by me with Susan and Serafina joining as creative partners and fellow explorers. Together, we carved out a space eight years ago where cosmic ideas, ancient truths, spiritual practices, and life’s big questions could be discussed openly and joyfully. The channel became a welcoming circle, where viewers tuned in to explore topics ranging from the mystical and the fringe to the deeply personal and practical. Soon the channel will relaunch with new hosts and new discussions. And perhaps, a visit from Susan and Serafina!

We will also host new social media platforms. The social media presence ensures that the spirit of openness, honesty, and non-judgmental curiosity ripples out into the wider world.

​

The site is not just a repository of wisdom, but a global meeting ground—an invitation for anyone, anywhere, to join the ongoing conversation.

​

Above all, ImpromptuEnlightenment remains true to its founding ideals: radically welcoming, joyfully eclectic, and dedicated to offering its resources freely and without judgement. Here, every story matters, every seeker is honored, and every step toward understanding is celebrated.

 

It is with a full heart of gratitude and deep appreciation for the contributions and support Susan and Serafina graciously have given to the expansion of ImpromptuEnlightenment.
